Root canal treatment

Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth, also known as the pulp, is affected by decay or infection. The idea of the therapy is to keep the natural tooth and to recover its normal functions. Usually, root canal treatment is needed when there is pulpitis – complicated caries that reached the pulp. Another case when root treatment is needed is inflammation around the roots of the tooth, resulting in changes in tissues in the form of granulations.

The treatment has some phases. In order to save the tooth, the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.

The physicians in dental clinic Estetica use modern and effective methods for treatment of pulpitis and periodontium by mechanically shaping of the root canals, which makes easier the 3D filling with warm condensation. Root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime, although on occasion, a tooth will have to be retreated due to new infections. By placing a tooth filling the missing part of the crown is recovered.

Our modern methods not only reduce discomfort and preserve the tooth but also guaranteed to prevent the absence of side effects such as strong darkening and staining of the treated teeth.

Tooth retreatment

Retreatment of the tooth may be necessary if the first treatment is unsuccessful. Although the sequence is the same as in the initial treatment, it requires much more attention when removing the root canal filling or finding a new one. When a retreatment occurred, the tooth must be opened again, used filling materials from the first treatment – removed and to make a careful examination of the tooth for additional canals or a new infection. Once cleaned and shaped, the canals are filled again.

When the treatment finish, a permanent crown or filling will be placed. The physicians in Estetica have experience in applying medications to overcome infection and fill the root canal so to achieve full bone recovery around the root. In order to be sure the treatment is successful, an x-ray is needed to check the results.

Removing a separated tool

Though it is an unpleasant complication, this procedure is successfully performed to prevent apical surgery or extraction of the tooth. We will determine if there is an infected tissue and apply the most appropriate techniques and methods to resolve the specific clinical status. After determining the level of fracture, the size of the fragment and the type of fracture, and the type of the instrument, we undergo microscopic treatment with ultrasound tools and systems to remove separated instruments.

Dental fiber-post

Placing a dental fiber-post is used for teeth with severely damaged or missing teeth and well-filled root canals. Their elasticity is closer to that of dentine – the dental tissue surrounding the pulp. They also have minimal risk of breakage in comparison with metal and ceramic fiber-posts. The dental fiber-posts have excellent sustainability.

Apical osteotomy

There are particularly strenuous cases where root treatment cannot lead to healing and surgical treatment is needed. Apical osteotomy is a surgical manipulation where the granuloma and the root of the root are removed after endodontic treatment has been performed and the tooth canal is properly filled. This is a microsurgical procedure held under local anaesthesia which remains within 2 hours. It is preferred because of the good indications of frontal teeth.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapeutic procedures for acute and chronic inflammatory processes in the facial area accompany the main treatment and significantly contribute to the reduction and successful completion of the healing process.

Iontophoresis – a physiotherapeutic method of applying drugs to the root canal for successful infection eradication.

How do we work

Once you have made contact with us, we will request some information and then organise a free video consultation for you with the dentist whom we believe will be the best suited for the procedure you are interested in.

Required information:

We will ask you to send us an X-ray or Panoramic photo taken no more than three months prior to the date of the inquiry and you will need to fill out a medical(health) questionnaire.

(If you don’t have an X-ray or a panoramic photo, they can be taken when you arrive in Bulgaria but in this case the treatment process and the price will most likely undergo some changes and won’t be as accurate as if you had them. After you make them in Bulgaria then your dentist will look at them and explain everything you want to know about the procedure).

After sending the required X-ray or Panoramic photo and completing the questionnaire, we will then organize the free video consultation with the appropriate dentist for you within 5 days.

We advise you before this consultation to write down any questions you want to discuss. During this consultation, the options for your treatment will be explained to you plus the length of stay and after care process.

After the formal request to us and if you so wish, we can arrange a meeting with our representative in London.

After the video consultation, within 24 hours, we will send you an offer describing the price of the procedure and the total number of days you stay in Bulgaria. But of course you can stay as long as you want.

In the offer there will be а preferential price for our partner hotels or apartments with which we work and we are able to guarantee their quality and comfort.

You will have 3-4 days of time to reflect and give us your decision.

If you decide to proceed and agreed with all terms and conditions, you will have 48 hours to prepay 20% of the total amount of the procedure. This amount is paid directly to the clinic where your procedure will be performed and that’s how you will have a reserved date and time for your procedure and a room in the hotel you have chosen. The outstanding balance must be paid no later than the day before the procedure itself(again to the clinic).

If you need to cancel the procedure, this must be done at least 2 weeks before the date of your flight in order to be able to trigger a process to return your deposit.

If you decide to cancel your agreement with us in the last two weeks before the flight, you must have an acceptable reason for that (supported by evidence) in order to take your money back, but you will be suspended administrative fee of 50 euro.

If you wish to change the date of the procedure, we must receive at least two weeks advance notice.

If you wish, we can also arrange your trip from your home to the airport. We are partners with a transport company and you can use our preferential prices. This also applies to your return flight. To do this, you will need to send us the details of your flight a week in advance.

Upon your arrival in Bulgaria, you will be welcomed by our representative who will take you to your hotel.

The following day our employee will take you to the clinic for a final examination, and after that to the place where you are accommodated.

On the day of the procedure, you will be taken again to the clinic and returned to your accommodation by our assistant.

During the entire stay, our contributor will be at your service.

On the day of your departure, you will be accompanied by our employee back to the airport.

If you wish, we can arrange your stay according to your requirements. This must be specified in advance.

Your dentist will give a detailed recovery and maintenance plan, which you must follow in order to achieve the best results from the procedure.

We are working with a dentist in London who can do follow-up examinations if required.
