FAQ
That is a term used to travel to foreign countries to receive medical services.
- Saving money – usually the prices of medical services in countries like Bulgaria are many times lower than the prices in England, Germany, France and others, and in many cases, we can say that they are of better quality.
- Finding a good specialist – access to the best specialists in countries like Bulgaria is much easier and cheaper than in the United Kingdom. Often these specialists work with companies such as Medical Holidays Bulgaria on preferential terms.
- Saving time and/or optimizing time – in medical tourism, you can plan the time for your procedure and adjust it to your other commitments.
Other reasons that motivate clients to seek medical services abroad are confidentiality, the desire to combine useful (procedure) with pleasant (visiting an interesting and unknown country), the accumulation of excellent reviews and more.
There are always risks, regardless of whether you are doing the procedure (treatment) in Bulgaria or another country. We try to keep them to a minimum by working with the best professionals in their field.
- Poor result – this usually happens when the patient plans his treatment himself. Then many things can go wrong, even just because of ignorance or insufficient research. The main risk factor is the choice of untested clinics or companies working with untested specialists. They usually win customers with the very low prices they offer. The unrealistically low price is a red flag for the fact that the offered service may not be of good quality.
- Unforeseen complications – these can be things like infections that can occur if you do not follow your doctor’s recommendations for postoperative care. Choosing excellent specialists and clinics reduces the risk of these complications, making them insignificant.
Our advantages are the excellent relationships with our customers and the thorough preparation:
- All people and institutions we work with are carefully selected and pre-checked. That applies to the doctors we work with, the clinics and hospitals where the procedures are performed, the employees of the company and the hotels we recommend (and for which we can assist).
- We insist that all the details of the service provided be known to both parties so that there are no surprises.
- We have pre-prepared schemes and rules for action in unforeseen situations.
- All our employees adhere to the internal code of ethics, in which the interests of the client are paramount.
If someone promises you one hundred per cent success and an excellent result, then you can be sure that you are being lied to.
The success of each procedure depends on factors both related to the patient (age, gender, genetic predispositions, health status, adherence to the recovery program, etc.) and outside it (skills of the doctor and his team, conditions in the clinic used materials, consumables, implants, etc.). To make the probability of an excellent result as high as possible, we follow a few basic rules:
- We do not do impossible things. What is possible and what is not is discussed in detail at the preliminary consultation with your doctor.
- We always provide the most complete information about everything about the procedure – from the method of execution, through a detailed recovery plan, to additional information about risk factors, possible complications and ways to avoid them.
- We are not just looking for the lowest price, but the best quality at the best price. That applies to everything – doctors, clinics, implants, medicines.
Successful results for our customers are our most important goal because it is based on both customer satisfaction and the success and sustainable development of our company.
Yes, you can. We are a company registered in the United Kingdom and if you wish we can arrange your meeting with our representative in London at a time convenient to you.
Once you have decided to use our services, we will need to enter into a written (electronic) agreement with you. It will describe all the details about your procedure. Once we know the date of your procedure, you will have to pay a deposit amounting to 30% of the price for cosmetic surgery procedures or 20% of the price for dental services. That is necessary to book the dates in the program of your surgeon and the medical institution where the procedure will be performed. Payment must be made no later than one month before the date of your procedure.
The rest of the price you have to pay on the spot at the clinic the day before the procedure/operation. All necessary financial documents will be issued to you.
You can refund your deposit after following the conditions approved for this:
- This must happen 30 days before your flight.
- If you decide to cancel the procedure less than 30 days before the flight, you must have an objective reason and proof of this. An appointment will likely be made with your doctor. If these reasons are acceptable, your deposit will be refunded, but there will be an administrative fee of 50 euros, which will be suspended by them.
It depends on the procedure you choose to undergo. In any case, we will ask you to fill in a standard questionnaire about your health. After the online meeting with your doctor, you will receive a list of preliminary tests that you need to do. These examinations may include a panoramic image and/or computed tomography for dental procedures or photographs of problem areas for plastic surgery procedures. For more serious surgeries you will need to have blood tests and other necessary standard preoperative tests. They can also be performed in the hospital in Bulgaria. In all cases, you will receive detailed instructions on everything you need to do.
First of all, you should know that such a probability is small, as we care a lot about preliminary information and preparation. If such a situation does occur, you will receive detailed information about what the change in the plan requires, as well as a good offer for the necessary operation. If you decide to cancel the procedure, your money will be refunded after deducting the administrative fees described in item 7 of our agreement.
After the operation, you will have to stay in the hospital for between one and three days. During this time, you will be under the supervision of a medical team and your doctor. They will monitor whether your initial recovery is progressing normally.
Once you are released from the hospital you will receive instructions about your recovery – what you should and should not do, how long it will take, when you can resume work, daily and sports activities, what medications and cosmetics to use, etc. Online appointments will be arranged in which the doctor will monitor your recovery. These meetings are usually in the second week, first, third and sixth month. You will also be able to contact him the rest of the time.
In dental services…
You will not have any difficulties in communicating in English. All our employees, as well as the doctors we work with, are fluent in English. In addition, all the time you are in Bulgaria you will be in touch with our employee, who will make sure everything is in order, even if a language problem arises somewhere (we do not expect such a thing).
You will receive the documents for your procedure/operation in Bulgarian and English, translated by a specialized language agency.
You must bring all the necessary documents for travel to Bulgaria. Citizens of the European Union need a valid passport or ID card. Non-EU citizens need a Travel Passport.
It depends on the procedure itself. If it allows that, with the permission of your doctor, we will be happy to assist you in organizing a holiday to your liking. That can be an excursion, a tour of museums, wine or tasting tourism, etc.
That is not our practice, but we can still assist you if you wish.
You can count on us completely for that. We will try to assist you in every way, but you must let us know in advance.
